We would like to draw attention to the need to use appropriate gas equipment, as required by the relevant directives and regulations. The introduction into service of cylinders with higher pressures creates the need to use new regulators, the cost of which is very quickly offset by the extended service life of the cylinders and simplifies warehouse management. The use of regulators, torch-mounted flashback arrestors and regulator-mounted flashback arrestors is required by the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 27 April 2000 on occupational health and safety during welding work (Journal of Laws 2000 No. 40, item 470):
§ 21. In every case where welding equipment is supplied with gas taken from a source in which the gas pressure is variable or higher than the rated supply pressure of the receiver, a pressure regulator shall be used at the point of draw-off.
§ 23.1. Where welding equipment is supplied with fuel gas taken from a cylinder bank, a cylinder bundle, a gas generator or a pipeline, a safety device shall be used at every gas draw-off point.
§ 23.2. Where oxy-fuel welding guns are supplied with gases taken from cylinders, safety devices located at the inlet to or inside the welding gun shall be used. This requirement does not apply to cutting oxygen lines in welding guns intended for cutting.
§ 24. Safety devices shall be used in accordance with their intended purpose, the type of gas, and the rated pressure and flow values.
