Instructions for use:
Before using Antox 71E, familiarize yourself with the safety rules regarding the application of this product. Before use, mix with a plastic or wooden stick or briefly shake; do not use metal objects. Apply thick layers of the product with a special pickling brush for Antox.
Recommended action time:
- stainless and acid-resistant steel, noble steel (e.g. 1.4571, 1.4301) - 15-60 min
- nickel and nickel alloys - 5-20 min
- copper-nickel alloys - 5-20 min
Types of steel that can be pickled using Antox 71E:
1.4301, 1.4306, 1.4541, 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4435, 1.4436, 1.4539, 1.4565, 1.4462, 2.4856
After an appropriate time, neutralize the pickled areas with Antox NP paste and thoroughly rinse with water; you can use a natural bristle brush, synthetic, or stainless steel brush. Particularly effective is rinsing with pressurized water. The liquid resulting from rinsing must be properly treated before entering the sewage system, in accordance with legal and local regulations.
Pickling process of stainless steel welds – Manual method (by brush)
1. DEGREASING
- ACLEAN 400 – degreasing or
- ACLEAN 118 – degreasing and removal of foreign-origin rust
- Action time approx. 5-10 min.
2. RINSING
3. PICKLING
- ANTOX 71E Plus, 71E Extra, MOST BLUE – apply with a brush on the weld
- Action time: 15-60 min. (30 min at 20°C)
- Ambient temperature: above 0°C, max. 30°C
4. NEUTRALIZATION
- ANTOX NP – apply with a brush, directly on ANTOX 71E Plus, 71 E Extra, MOST BLUE
- Reaction time: up to 5 min
5. RINSING with water
- recommended high-pressure at least 140 bar
- you can aid rinsing by cleaning the pickled area with a plastic brush
Shelf life: 36 months
Wastewater disposal:
Because rinse wastewater is acidic and contains heavy metals, it must be collected. The collected rinse water should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Discharge to your own wastewater treatment plant (consult the plant operator) or commission disposal with a specialized company.
